I have this code in my activity Splash. But, The thing is it does not show up when I start my application. What could be the " Wrong- step " here and what can I do to get it sorted?

public class Splash extends Activity {
    Handler handler;
    private long timeDelay = 2500;
    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
        setContentView(R.layout.activity_splash);
        final Intent i = new Intent(this, Quotes.class);
        handler = new Handler();
        handler.postDelayed(new Runnable() {
             public void run() {
                 startActivity(i);
                 finish();
             }
        }, timeDelay);
    }

    @Override
    public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) {
        // Inflate the menu; this adds items to the action bar if it is present.
        getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.splash, menu);
        return true;
    }

}

Set your Splash activity as starting activity when application starts. Add the below code in manifest.

 <activity android:launchMode="singleTop" android:name=".Splash">
            <intent-filter>
            <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
            <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
        </intent-filter>
 </activity>

Splash Screen is not shown when iP…, Splash Screen is not shown when iPhone has App for debugging and Release App. I use Launch Screen.storyboard to show Splash Screen in xcode11. Since my computer upgraded to Windows 10 x64 Pro build 1709, Fall Creaters Edition, the motherboard splash screen no longer appears. There are many controls on the MB, such as; updating BIOS, overclocking, drive boot order, and many tweaking controls. You normally access the screen by pressing F2 or Delete within a few seconds of startup.

public class SplashActivity extends Activity {

private static final int SPALSH_TIME = 5000;// 5 Seconds

@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    setContentView(R.layout.splash);

    new Handler().postDelayed(new Runnable() {

        @Override
        public void run() {

            Intent intent = new Intent(SplashActivity.this,
                    MainTabActivity.class);
            startActivity(intent);
            SplashActivity.this.finish();

        }
    }, SPALSH_TIME);
}

@Override
public void onBackPressed() {
    SplashActivity.this.finish();
    super.onBackPressed();
}

}

Why is launch screen not showing?, I just noticed I have the problem of the launch screen not showing as I had before. Instead it shows just black. Here is my last question about this:  Re: Splash Screen Missing try resetting your bios to defaults. go to your BIOS screen by tapping F2 when booting then in the BIOS screen press <Alt> + <F> to load defaults then save changes and exit. see if that works.

Splash screen not showing, Hello guys, I'm rather new to this so I came to you for help. I need the make an app with a splash screen (as an assignment) and followed a  That's fine. The trouble is that the splash screen doesn't show up until I press some key -- any key. Without the splash screen, there's no way to prompt the user to open the Grub menu. As for Turnkey, no, there's not an appliance for recovery -- Turnkey Core is just the most minimal preconfigured distro I could find with the necessary tools.

Cordova Plugin Splashscreen - Splashscreen, There are two mechanisms for displaying a launch screen on iOS: Legacy launch images: images are sized exactly for the device's screen size. Does not  The new splash screen does not run in VR. The VR team felt that it was not suitable as it's not 3D, so when VR mode is detected it is not shown. On some VR devices a VR version of the splash will be shown but this is not connected to the splash screen settings, so won't use any logos or parameters supplied to it.

Splashscreen not showing after reloading · Issue #222 , Maybe this is expected behaviour, but the splashscreen is not showing when I reload the app (live reload). I even have a setTimeout to delay  UPdate, with quick boot turned off, and show full screen logo enabled it will show on a cold boot up. If I do a save settings and exit from the BIOS it doesn't. It looks like if quick boot is enabled I won't see any BIOS POST screen. It's something to do with the video card I think, as I don't see the Video cards BIOS splash screen either.

  • Check your manifest file the 'Splash' activity should be your starting main activity.
  • And please implement a stop functionality if the user quits your splash screen! Nothing worse than a splash screen -> back pressed -> home screen -> app continues by starting the new activity!
  • oops! THat was a silly mistake. Thanks.
  • Okay! I just added the stop() functionality.
