I am trying to make stripe checkout sample from stripe website works

https://stripe.com/docs/checkout/rails

, yet when I try to pay, I receive this error message.

You did not set a valid publishable key. Call Stripe.setPublishableKey() with your publishable key. For more info, see https://stripe.com/docs/stripe.js

In my JavaScript console the error message is

In my console the error message is

When I check my html source code stripe-key meta tag does not have any content?

The stripe sample uses their own secret and publishable keys, yet I use mine.

Please, if more info is needed, ask, so I can post.

Stripe.api_key = Rails.configuration.stripe[:secret_key]

I actually added the publishable key in the new.html.erb like that:

<script src="https://checkout.stripe.com/checkout.js" class="stripe-button"
      Stripe.setPublishableKey('PUBLISHABLE_KEY');
      data-key="<%= Rails.configuration.stripe[:publishable_key] %>"
      data-description="A month's subscription"
      data-amount="100"
      data-locale="auto">

Ruby on rails, But I have an issue when I launch my payment: you did not set a valid publishable key. Call Stripe.setPublishableKey() with your publishable key. Hi, I have some ASR902 running 15.4(3)S1, where I'm seeing a lot of the following messages: 225908: Feb 16 13:22:19.850 AST: %OSPF-4-NOVALIDKEY: No valid authentication send key is available on interface BDI960 225909: Feb 16 13:22:36.571 AST: %OSPF-4-INVALIDKEY: Key ID 0 received on interface BDI96

I've got the same problem, to solve it , just put this code into your stripe.rb file

config/initializers/stripe.rb

Rails.configuration.stripe = {
  publishable_key: Rails.application.secrets.stripe_publishable_key,
  secret_key: Rails.application.secrets.stripe_secret_key
}
Stripe.api_key = Rails.configuration.stripe[:secret_key]

of course after you put the test_keys into config/secrets.yml

(SOLVED) Stripe Error with Spark, js.stripe.com/:3 Uncaught Error: You did not set a valid publishable key. I have set my keys in the .env and config/services.php with both pk_live and I have a coupon for 99% off, which I have been using, but that doesn't  Error: Unable to find the appropriate private key for the certificate. Or if I clicks 'Add SSL Certificate', and try to upload the bundle from there, I get: Error: Unable to set the private key: Probably, the private key format is invalid. Error: Some fields are empty or contain an improper value. I have no idea what I should put in which field.

In stripe.rb, you're setting :publishable_key from ENV['PUBLISHABLE_KEY'], while in application.html.erb you use ENV["STRIPE_PUBLIC_KEY"]. You should probably update application.html.erb to use Rails.configuration.stripe[:publishable_key] instead:

  <%= tag :meta, :name=> 'stripe-key', :content => Rails.configuration.stripe[:publishable_key] %>

That said, the issue is likely that you did not set the environment variables. Can you try setting the keys directly in stripe.rb instead? E.g.:

Rails.configuration.stripe = {
  :publishable_key => 'pk_...',
  :secret_key      => 'sk_...'
}

As a reminder, you can find you API keys in your Stripe dashboard: https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/apikeys.

What's the purpose of the secret key for stripe? Also, is this safe , is used in your client-side code to tokenize payment information, using Checkout or Stripe. js.
