I am using CheckBox in my ASP.Net MVC project,

i want to set checkBox by default checked,

My CheckBox is

@Html.CheckBoxFor(model => model.As, new { @checked = "checked" })

but its not working,,,,

In your controller action rendering the view you could set the As property of your model to true:

model.As = true;
return View(model);

and in your view simply:

@Html.CheckBoxFor(model => model.As);

Now since the As property of the model is set to true, the CheckBoxFor helper will generate a checked checkbox.

Html.CheckBoxFor, to create checkbox element using html helper in razor view in MVC. set; } public bool isNewlyEnrolled { get; set; } public string Password { get; set; } } So it automatically checked or unchecked a checkbox based on the property  Type denotes that it is checkbox c. To fix it, add the following line into Application_Start method in Global.asax file.

Old question, but another "pure razor" answer would be:

@Html.CheckBoxFor(model => model.As, htmlAttributes: new { @checked = true} )

Create CheckBox using HtmlHelper in ASP.Net MVC, public class Activity { public int Id {get; set;} public string Activityname {get; set;} MvcHtmlString CheckBox(string name, bool isChecked, object htmlAttributes) true) //Html Result: <input checked="checked" id="isChecked"  The value attribute will be set to the value of a isNewlyEnrolled boolean property. In the above Html result, notice that it has generated additional hidden field with the same name and value=false. This is because when you submit a form with a checkbox, the value is only posted if the checkbox is checked.

You could set your property in the model's constructor

public YourModel()
    As = true;
