  • use this code: var value=$('#txt_Name').val(); You can also set the value using jquery. please look at this post at: coding-issues.blogspot.in/2013/10/…
  • @Prabs, the question was: "What are the ways to get and render an input value using jQuery?", label is not an input.
  • remove the quotes from 'bla' . It should be $('#txt_name').val(bla);
  • @ParbhuBissessar Not necessarily. If he wants the literal text 'bla', the he's got it right. If he wants the val of the var bla then he needs to remove the quotes.
  • notice the get's: "val()" instead of "val" you may look at my profile
  • i did this but having issues.
  • I know this is an older question, but don't forget that the attr may also be replaced with prop. This is semantically better.
  • Only $("#txt_name").val(str); worked for me in Chrome to set the value. Try this post.
  • The jQuery append function seems to have no problem adding to the HTML while keeping form values.
  • $("#txt_name").attr('value'); return default value/answer is incorrect!
  • keep in mind that $("#txt_name").attr('value') will allways return the contents of the attribute "value", so if you change the input field, the value is not changing. .val() will allways return the contents of the field..
  • @Bharan Why do you need an alternative?
