Parabolic shape css

I'm attempting to make a parabolic shape using CSS. By this I mean this target shape:

I'd like the shape to be one solid color. The code beneath is what I've managed so far, it makes a half circle.

.circle::after {
  content: '';
  background-color: #22222A;
  min-height: 40px;
  min-width: 80px;
  width: 5vw;
  height: 2.5vw;
  border-bottom-left-radius: 90px;
  border-bottom-right-radius: 90px;
  position: absolute;
  top: 0;
  left: 50%;
  transform: translateX(-50%);
}

Actually i don't know what you are looking for exactly.

.circle {
    width: 200px;
    height: 100px;
    background-color: transparent;
    border-top-left-radius: 110px;
    border-top-right-radius: 110px;
    border: 10px solid gray;
    border-bottom: 0;
    transform:rotate(180deg);
}
<div class="circle"></div>

The code  A parabolic dish solar power plant is based on a single parabolic reflector, similar in shape to a satellite antenna. This reflector focuses light to a point where a heat engine is placed. The heat engine uses the concentrated solar heat to produce electricity. In concept, the solar dish is similar to the solar tower,

You can do this by defining border radius with respect to the width and height of the element. In addition, you hide the border on the top.

.parabola{
  width:200px; height:200px;
  border:solid;
  border-color:transparent #000 #000 #000;
  border-radius: 0 0 100px 100px;

First, position the paper so the long sides are at the bottom and top. Next, use a ruler to draw a straight line from the top left square to the right of the bottom left square.

You can make it in either way

 <div class="circle"></div>

  height : 200px;
  width : 300px;
  border : 1px solid red;
  border-radius : 50%;

Drawing Images with CSS Gradients, Drawing Shapes. The fun part begins here. To draw a square that is 8 × 8em in the center, we use a linear-gradient()  ~ A focus of a parabola is a fixed point present on the interior of the curve of a parabola. ~ A directrix is a line perpendicular to the axis of symmetry. ~ An axis of symmetry is the line that passes through the focus and vertex. ~ A vertex is the point on the parabola where the line takes a turn to form the curve.

Parabolas in Spaceflight The shimmering, stretched arc of a rocket launch gives perhaps the most striking example of a parabola.

The Shapes of CSS, CSS is capable of making all sorts of shapes. Squares and rectangles are easy, as they are the natural shapes of the web. Add a width and height and you. A popular tourist activity to do in Sydney is walking up one of those parabolic arches; evidently the view is quite remarkable. The shape of a suspended cable. When a cable is hung between two points, it assumes a shape that looks much like that of a parabola near the vertex called a catenary. In such a case the cable is only supporting its own weight.
