Android image not showing in imageview, Image not showing in Mobile but shows in Android Studio how to solve Image display error Duration: 3:23 Posted: Oct 18, 2017 This way, the image is not showing. I have tried with android:src: in the xml, but it doesn't work. The image is very large. Do I need to resize it before putting it in the ImageView? If not, why is the image not showing? Thank you. EDIT: The PNG is 1080x1920

This one worked for me.

Intent getIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_GET_CONTENT).setType("image/*");

Intent pickIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, android.provider.MediaStore.Images.Media.EXTERNAL_CONTENT_URI);
pickIntent.setType("image/*");

Intent chooserIntent = Intent.createChooser(getIntent, "Select Profile Image");
chooserIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_INITIAL_INTENTS, new Intent[] {pickIntent});

startActivityForResult(chooserIntent, AppConstants.PICK_IMAGE);

And

@Override
public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
    super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data);
    if(resultCode == Activity.RESULT_OK && requestCode == AppConstants.PICK_IMAGE)
    {
        image.setImageURI(data.getData());
    }
}

Edited

Otherwise

startActivityForResult(intent.createChooser(intent,"Select Photo"), SELECT_FILE);

Change above line to

startActivityForResult(Intent.createChooser(intent,"Select Photo"), SELECT_FILE);

Image not showing in Mobile but shows in Android Studio, Issue: Android ImageView was not displaying image on Redmi Note Prime, when tested. But the same code when used in Redmi 4A shows  A null bitmap = unusable image. This is the basis for how an image is actually used. When an image is used in android and it is assigned it actually converts the image into a bitmap, and depending on certain parameters being size and various other factors, it can fail, which would result in your image being converted and being returned as null due to some failure that occurred.

There a small mistake on your code, that you have to check, resultCode == Activity.RESULT_OK, instead of requestCode == Activity.RESULT_OK

Hope it will help your issue. Thanks!

@Override
public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
    super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data);

    if (resultCode == Activity.RESULT_OK) {
        if (requestCode == REQUEST_CAMERA) {

            Bundle bundle = data.getExtras();
            final Bitmap bitmap = (Bitmap) bundle.get("data");
            imageView.setImageBitmap(bitmap);

        } else if (requestCode == SELECT_FILE) {

            Uri selectImageUri = data.getData();
            imageView.setImageURI(selectImageUri);

        }
    }
}

I'm using ImageView in Android Studio but Android Studio doesn't , Displays image resources, for example Bitmap or Drawable resources. XML snippet is a common example of using an ImageView to display an image resource: android:baselineAlignBottom, If true, the image view will be baseline aligned with android:importantForAccessibility, Describes whether or not this view is  2. Inorder to load images from an url we first need to store the image in a temporary location and once it is downloaded it should be added to ImageView. To create a temporary file we need to access device external storage. Add required permission to AndroidManifest.xml file. To access internet required permission is – INTERNET.

ImageView, Android has all kinds of features for drawing images and displaying bitmap files. Here is one possible But remember, you're creating a practice application here, not a work of art. How to Display Images in Your Android App, I'm very confused about how Android handles images. Only about 1 in 10 images that I download from the web is displayed in my ImageView  Display images. Xamarin.Forms uses the Image view to display images on a page. It has two important properties: Source - An ImageSource instance, either File, Uri or Resource, which sets the image to display. Aspect - How to size the image within the bounds it is being displayed within (whether to stretch, crop or letterbox).
