I'm update my node.js to version 7. And after run webpack in project I received error message: ERROR in Path must be a string. Received undefined

Anybody has a suggestion? How resolve this problem?

When I am learning Writing your AngularJS with Redux

I got the the error "ERROR in The "path" argument must be of type string. Received type undefined webpack: Failed to compile."

At last I figured out the issue by add filename (filename: 'index.html',) to webpack.config.js accoring to CrzMarvin solution.

I had the same problem before,then I think it's something wrong with the plugin. then, I add filename to this plugin.It worked.

Webpack ERROR in Path must be a string. Received undefined , When I am learning Writing your AngularJS with Redux. I got the the error "​ERROR in The "path" argument must be of type string. Received  Usually this is when you are using the path.resolve() fn and the folder path is not resolved or found. Or missing a path. Would you mind upgrading to webpack 2 and seeing if this issue still persists. And if so, we'd need some more information than just your node modules.

You should install html-webpack-plugin dependency instead of webpack-html-plugin. I had the same issues before

I'm trying to get started with Webpack 3, since I'm starting to make more complicated  @Ks89 When I updated the version of bootstrap-loader in your package.json and then ran npm install, npm installed bootstrap-loader@2.0.0-exports.1.When I installed the proper version and then ran npm run start, I had no errors.

The problem of the issue is related with Node 6 and above. Changing it for Node 5.x instead will probably fix the issue.

Received undefined, I keep getting this error when I try to start a new project with: ionic start newapp blank I just upgraded ionic to v3, first of all I uninstalled the  At the end i ended up putting the includePaths config in the query property of the loader in webpack.common.js and both context & output are duplicated in both webpack.dev.js & webpack.prod.js configs (should be in common to avoid duplication), for now at least.

  • Now we have stable version 8. Why should I use the old version node?
  • Going back to an older version doesn't help in pinpointing what went wrong in the new version.
